Linking the Anatoki and Waingaro Tracks through the Stanley Valley, we c an turn this historic track into a near loop track, with a short car shuffl e. It's 3 long summer days, with Lake Stanley as a nice half way meeting po int. (If wanted, we'll have a fast and a slow group. One could walk it in 3 days, and the other group can take 4 days, depending on who comes.)
The track is mostly in the bush (good on hot days!), with some gorges and s tream crossings, partly rough terrain, but nothing technical, long days, 7- 10 hrs.
Bring tents, as the huts are small and basic.
