DESCRIPTION:<p>POSTPONED to <strong>Sunday 19th October</strong> due to weather</p><p>&
 nbsp;</p><p>In Europe, climbing on wire ropes and ladders over, around and 
 up rock faces is very popular. It is called Via Ferrata.(by wire??)</p><p>T
 akaka Hill is now home to NZ's second Via Ferrata (the first is a private o
 ne near Wanaka) Stage 1 opened late last year and is free to access.... but
  you need to hire safety gear. (<strong>$8/person</strong> from Ngarua Cave
 s)</p><p>Stage 2 is under construction and will be a longer, more thrilling
  experience. But Stage 1 is a good test of your confidence for climbing aro
 und cliff faces.</p><p>There is a small "test climb" for people to check th
 eir confidence. If it's not for you, the Walkway offers an alternative.</p>
