VOLUNTEERS REQUIRED. NTC has volunteered to repaint Flo ra Hut to give it a 'refresh' before the Xmas Holidays. This will include t he walls, roof and the chimneys (that are badly stained at present). The wo rk will require an initial washdown before painting. The chimeys will also be given a galvanised undercoat before painting. Most of the work will be d one from the ground with paint rollers (the walls); and from ladders for th e roof and chimneys - again using long-handled rollers. Brush work will be minimal if we do a good job!
The work needs to be spread over 2-3 day s. This will probably require a 2 night stay in the Hut or in tents. Obviou sly good weather will be essential for the work.
At ths stage, I am calling for expressions of interes t from anyone interested in helping out. The final dates will be dec ided later but late November or early December is planned. It could be duri ng the week or over a "long" weekend - depending on what works for most pep le.
