| Friday would plan to stash a bike at the Timm's Creek end and drive to park at Jackson Creek Road. Cross Jackson Creek and follow forestry road to the hiking track. A steep climb up the ridge with lovely views along the way to stay in or camp by Richmond Saddle Hut.On Saturday climb Mount Richmond and over this to follow ridgetops to Mount Fell. Drop down to Mount Fell Hut for the night.Out on Sunday via the Timm's Creek route. One member bikes back to collect the car.(An alternative would be to have 2 parties at either end do a short car shuffle at the end- if there was a serious 4WD, that vehicle could cross Jackson Creek and park by the start of the walking track missing out the few km walk up the forestry track.) Good clear calm weather would be needed for the trip to go ahead. It is quite likely the rocks will be icy on the tops and there may be snow also. If conditions are not suitable for tops travel a day trip on Mt Richmond and a return to the start could be contemplated. There is a lot of steep climbing and descents on this trip and the track out via Timm's Creek is fairly rough in places. | ||
