Wakamarina Track. One fast party in from Kiwi Road, do a key swap and leave by Wakamarina Road to Canvastown and a medium pace group do the trip in reverse. Leaders Kath Ballantine and David Loe.

DoC Track time for this is 7hrs, Waimea TC did it in 6.5hrs with overnight packs a while back. We will need to leave earlish to make use of the available daylight as it is a longish drive to the South side.

Update 20.5.24

Kath will lead the group going South to North as it starts at about 500m altitude. David will lead in the other direction with consequently more climbing. We leave Cathedral steps at 7.30am. 

Update 23.5.24

Kath no longer coming due to illness. Mike Drake will lead the second party. Both parties are similar speed. Currently we have 9 registrants so 2 cars are close to capacity. New registrants please be mindful that I may have to say you do an out and back tramp from the Canvastown side, meeting the crossover party as they head north. Or if there are enough for 2 extra cars then you can still do a crossover. Register anyway and I'll sort it out! Happy days and more the merrier!

Registration

It is IMPORTANT that "You contact the Trip Leader before registering" for a trip. Especially if you are new to the club or a non-club member (Visitor). The Leader will need to be confident that you have the experience, fitness and the correct gear to complete the trip successfully. :-)

VISITORS can register using their email address which will be used to send you trip registration confirmation details and the ability to cancel the trip registration. Please register each person attending separately.
