PORT HILLS MEGA-WALK
Date: Sunday 10 March | Time: 8am | Venue: Pioneers Park | Grade: Mmmm... | Duration: That depends :-) Allow 3-4 hours. | Registration: Just turn up on the day.
Anyone in for a masochistic endurance trek over the Port Hills?
I have devised a cunning 11km route that follows no less than 18 off-road walkways, steps and bushy trails ... with about 500m of elevation gain. Right in the heart of old Nelson. No carbon emissions necessary.
If enough folks attend, I will split us up into teams. Each group gets a map, and a quiz to fill out. Expect to learn lots of early Nelson history. Expect to test your fitness to the max :-D.
If you bail out, no problem. We can send out a party to fetch you. P.S. There are watering holes along the way (and de-watering holes too.) All welcome, just be prepared for lots of 'ups and downs'.
