This trip is cancelled due to the rain. If another snowy weekend eventuates this winter/spring we will try again. Let's walk on the snow again. Rainbow ski field, on either Saturday or Sunday, whichever day has the better weather that weekend. For the fit and experienced snow trampers, a group will attempt to walk to Peanter peak. Most of us made it last year, which was wonderful. For the slower and less experienced snow trampers, a group will walk up to and over the lake, onto the ridge and up to Mt McRae. If we still have the energy, we will then walk towards Peanater peak to meet the other group on their return, and to enjoy the views. The club has some crampons and ice axes for us to use, so let me know if you need to borrow some. Priority will be given to club members. Vehicles will need snow chains to get to Rainbow ski field. |

It is IMPORTANT that "You contact the Trip Leader before registering" for a trip. Especially if you are new to the club or a non-club member (Visitor). The Leader will need to be confident that you have the experience, fitness and the correct gear to complete the trip successfully. :-)
