DESCRIPTION:A day walk up Wooded Peak from the Brook Valley in Nelson. Good fitness req
 uired. It will be a longish day, up to 8 hours. The route from the Brook Va
 lley is around 20km and Wooded Peak is 1111m, so around 1000 metres of clim
 bing. Most of the route is on well formed track (the Coppermine trail) but 
 the bit up to Wooded Peak is rough, scrambly and steep. All Trails describe
 s it as a 'hard' route. We will meet at the carpark at the end of the Brook
  Valley campground, just before the Brook Waimaramara Sanctuary (if we have
  a big group we will carpool from the Cathedral Steps in Nelson). There isn
 't amazing view from the top of Wooded Peak itself but with any luck we'll 
 get some views over Mt Richmond Forest Park on the way down to Windy Point.
