Description

From the Rainbow Road, over the Wairau River swing bridge and up Lees Creek on a good track. Options are to spend the night in the hut (4 bunks) or press on another 20 min to the Forks where there is an excellent camp site. On Sunday morning we will explore further up the valley possibly to the tarns under the Mangerton Ridge. Out same route in the afternoon. A gem of a valley with easy travel and no great height gain. $25 gate fee per car.
