The boulder bank walk started with a meet up by Styx restaurant where cars were shuttled to the end of the walk. It was a mixed group of new faces and old as we hoped on the ferry to ride over to the city. Then onward to the lighthouse tiptoeing around numerous gull nests and eggs and avoiding the odd dive-bombing anxious parents.
At the lighthouse a stop for a climb to the top was not accompanied by a round of the hallelujah chorus to test the acoustics despite a request by Paula. But it was nice nonetheless.
Then onward we marched in a spread out group to check out the burned out bach which really was burned to the ground. A small run-around trailed us along the bank sounding its horn on and off.
Lunch was a leisurely and early 11.30 on lying tree branches just past the last bach. A bit of rubbish was collected along the way too. The weather was perfect, patches of sun but mostly cloud cover so not too hot and a slight breeze.
The cars were reached by 2pm and we all travelled back to our start point.
Some of us enjoyed coffee at the Styx before going our separate ways to mow the lawns, dig bark or have a nap.
Thanks Michele for organising another nice day out.
